The first stop of the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) for 2008 was at Houston Raceway Park (HRP).  History was made Saturday as a record setting crowd of over 42,000, at last count,  filled HRP to break the tracks all-time single day attendance record.  Fans witnessed some of the best Pro Mod racing in the country.  The weekend didn't start off all that well as rain, high winds and cold weather cancelled Fridays action.  Still 12,000 fans came to enjoy what the ADRL has to offer and were entertained with good live music from a couple of the local bands.
This event also kicked off the ADRL youth program.  Some very good speakers talked to the young men and women from some of the local schools about their future, along with the negitive effects of street racing and making poor chioces.  The Interceptor Team was included within this youth program and will continue and become a bigger part in the future. We are really excited about this and look forward to interacting with the young men and women.
Part of the Interceptor Team weekend display included four of the local Beat The Heat teams with their police/race cars and were a popular addition to our pit area.  We would like to thank Tommy and Don with the Galveston Beat The Heat.  We would like to thank all the fans that stopped by, we enjoyed meeting you all.  Last, we would like to thank Kenny and his staff with the ADRL for the opportunity to be a part of the program and welcoming us as part of the family.
Speaking of family, HRP is our home track and Maria and I have alot of family in the area, it was great to see so many of our family members at the track to enjoy what we do.  For many it was their first time seeing the Interceptor in action.  We would like to thank our honorary crew members, B.B. (Step-son) and Eddie (Nephew) for all their help.  The Interceptor performed very well as we ran a couple low 4.0's at over 200 mph in the 1/8 mile event.  We closed the show with a sky full of fireworks as I crossed the finish line.

Our first event of 2008.  State Capitol Raceway in Baton Rouge, LA for the Red Hot Racing weekend.  This was our first visit to State Capitol and we were told of the many improvements made to this facility, which I must say looked great.  This was a very nice track, but it was the people that stood out.  We would like to thank our hosts Joey and Liz Marcotte.  We were feed both days with some of the best Cajun food around.  Shrimp, crawfish, more shrimp,  jambalaya and some wonderful cake.  Did I tell you about my diet. Oh, well moving on. We have to thank Brad Marcotte for his role as a Interceptor Team crew member for the weekend.  Between helping us, he also won the Saturday night bracket race with his Red Hot Racing dragster. Good job.
We ran with Mike DeWitt and his Space Machine both days and it was a pleasure meeting Mike and his crew.  The Interceptor performed well with a best run on the second pass Saturday, a 5.96 at 267 mph.  We ran twice Saturday and twice Sunday, the Interceptor and Space Machine ran well together.  It was a good show for the sizable crowd on hand. We look forward to returning to this track, hope later this year, as the fans were great, it was nice meeting all of you.  Glad you all enjoyed the show.
